FUNCTIONAL OUTCOME OF DISPLACED CLAVICLE FRACTURE TREATED BY INTRAMEDULLARY NAILING: A PROSPECTIVE STUDY
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background:Clavicle fracture is one of the most common injury.Despite high incidence, choice proper treatment still controversial. This prospective study was done to evaluate functional outcome displaced clavicle treated by intramedullary nailing. Material and methods:The conducted on 30 patients(25 males 5 females) with displaced/comminuted either elastic nails or endcap.Followupexamination for radiological evaluationwas at 1 month,3 months 6 months. Results: Mean duration clinical union in comminuted transverse/oblique 6.41 weeks 6.89 respectively while mean 8 8.5 respectively. In co-relation between pattern we obtained P-value 0.418,0.842 0.453 Constant shoulder,DASH VAS scores which statically not significant that means there no relation outcome. Conclusion:- The fixation a safe minimally invasive technique. nailing holds advantages rate, minimal periosteal stripping soft tissue damage, blood loss relatively less complications. technique provides faster return daily professional activities excellent results. Implant removal easier can be as day care procedure under local anesthesia.

A retrospective study of titanium elastic stable intramedullary nailing in displaced mid-shaft clavicle fractures☆
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is to analyze the functional outcome following titanium elastic stable intra-medullary nailing (ESIN) for displaced mid-shaft clavicular fractures (DMCF). METHODS A retrospective study of 60 patients between March 2009 and March 2015 was conducted. Patients were selected based on the inclusion criteria. Six patients were lost during follow up. Out of the remain...
متن کاملOutcome of Diaphyseal Fracture of Tibia Treated with Flexible Intramedullary Nailing in Pediatrics Age Group; A Prospective Study
Fracture of Tibia is the most common amongst pediatric fractures. Most tibial shaft fractures are treated conservatively with close reduction and above knee cast application. Surgery is indicated only when the fracture is unstable, open fracture and associated with multiple injuries. Flexible intramedullary nailing is commonly used for diaphyseal tibial fracture and is also well used in other l...
متن کاملOpen adult femoral shaft fracture treated by early intramedullary nailing.
In two hospitals, 115 consecutive open femoral shaft fractures were treated by meticulous wound excision and early locked (97) or unlocked (18) intramedullary nailing. All the fractures united; union was delayed in four, three of which required bone grafting. The average range of knee flexion at follow-up was 134 degrees (60 to 148). Five patients had a final range of less than 120 degrees, but...
متن کاملWho should be treated surgically for a displaced clavicle fracture?
Treatment of displaced midshaft clavicle fractures remains controversial despite several randomized trials and a recent meta-analysis (McKee et al. 2012, Lenza et al. 2013, Rehn et al. 2014, Wang et al. 2015). In the current issue of Acta Orthopaedica, Ban et al. present results of a survey among Scandinavian orthopedic surgeons on attitudes to treatment of displaced clavicle fractures. The res...
متن کاملpresentation of a humeral shaft fracture treated by locked intramedullary nailing with unlocked technique
conclusions the functional outcome 22 months post injury showed that although primary treatment method uses locked imn in humeral shaft fractures, unlocked imn can be used in appropriate cases. less injury risk to the axillary and radial nerve, short period of surgery, and less radiation can be considered as advantages of this technique. introduction although intramedullary nailing (imn) is use...
